The arches are starting to go up on the Burgoyne Bridge in St. Catharines.
Crews put up the first piece overnight Wednesday as they continue to work on the bridge spanning Twelve Mile Creek in downtown St. Catharines.
Highway 406 has been sealed off nightly this month between Westchester and Fourth from 10pm and 6am.
The closures will continue as crews work to add the remaining signature arches, which are being installed in six pieces.
The segments are currently supported on the temporary towers during the initial installation.
The region also warning a section of St. Paul will also be closed later this month to allow for two large cranes that will help lift sections of the arches on top of the new $91 million span.
According to the project website, the bridge should be completed in spring of 2017.
