Police in St.Catharines are looking to identify a man spotted near an elementary school.
Officers were called out at 10:45AM Monday to an elementary school in the area of Carlton Street and Huron Street for a suspicious male call.
Police say two alert members of the public saw an older male standing near a fence talking to a group of kids on the other side.
The members of the public found this suspicious and decided to take photos of the male and call the school.
The school and police investigation found that the male had left the area.
He had given gum to the children in the school yard.
The male is described as:
- White
- 60-70 years old
- Medium build, approximately 5'8
- Gray hair and facial hair
- Glasses
- Green baseball hat
- Blue jeans
- Black running shoes with a white sole
- Plaid burgundy blue and white lumberjack style sweater
- Blue coat with brown colour
- Blue sweater
The identity of the male is unknown.
While no criminal act has been alleged, police would like to speak with the male to determine his intentions. The appropriateness of his actions are of concern.
