A man has been arrested following an assault investigation in Fort Erie.
On January 22nd around 4pm, Niagara officers responded to a report of an 18-year-old woman who sustained minor physical injuries after an assault.
Around 2pm on Monday, the victim was driving her car on the QEW when she noticed a black sedan following her.
She recognized the driver, and when she stopped her car to tell him to leave her alone, he got out of his car and slapped her.
About an hour later the victim was at her home in Fort Erie when the suspect and another unknown man forced their way into her home.
They physically assaulted her with a knife and smashed her cellphone before taking off in the same black sedan.
One of the two suspects has been identified and was arrested in the Town of Lincoln yesterday.
26-year-old Sadiek Elmi Said of Lincoln was arrested and is facing multiple charges including criminal harassment, 2 counts of assualt, forcible entry and confinement, and more.
The identity of the second suspect remains unknown.
