Niagara Regional Police continue to look for a suspect after a shooting in downtown St. Catharines.
Media Relations with the NRP Stephanie Sabourin tells CKTB's Tim Denis a man remains in hospital with life threatening injuries after police were called to the St. Paul and Queen Street area yesterday morning at 1:40 a.m.
When they arrived, police discovered a 24 year old victim, who was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to an out of town trauma centre.
A suspect was last seen fleeing westbound in the area of St. Paul Street and Ontario Street.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his early 20s with a slender build. At the time he wore a dark blue hooded track suit with a white stripe on the side.
NRP Constable Phil Gavin says there's nothing to indicate this shooting is connected to the September 6th shooting incident in the Niagara and Church Street area that sent three people to hospital.
Anyone with more information is encouraged to contact police or Crimestoppers.
