We've seen the viral videos from south of the border, of people causing scenes in stores after refusing to wear a face mask.
Yesterday, a refusal to put on a face mask turned deadly and now the SIU is investigating after police shot and killed a man in cottage country.
It happened in Haliburton where witnesses claim a man erupted in rage and started assaulting people when he was asked to mask up inside a grocery store.
He allegedly crashed his vehicle into the store before he sped away.
The SIU says police followed the car and made their way to a home where they had an interaction with a 73 year old man outside.
The agency says two officers shot at the man.
He was taken to hospital where he died.
