34yearold Tyler Sterling Rivard of Niagara Falls is wanted by police

A man is wanted by police in relation to an explosion at a home in Niagara Falls.

Niagara Regional Police were called to the residence in the area of Fourth Avenue and Morrison Street on Friday morning around 10:00 a.m for reports of a fire.

Following an investigation, police believe the blaze was caused intentionally by a man who detonated a commercial grade pyrotechnic.

A man and woman fled the scene prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.

Four people in the home were able to escape the structure, and were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. One person was transported to hospital as a precaution.

34-year-old Tyler Sterling Rivard of Niagara Falls is wanted by police for the following offences:

- Using Explosives

- Arson Disregard for Human Life

The suspect man and woman were last seen pushing a wheel barrow full of miscellaneous belongings on Huron Street in Niagara Falls.  

They may also have a pit bull with them.
