Niagara Police are looking for a suspect after two armed attempted robberies in downtown Beamsville.
At 3:45 p.m. police were called to the Coastal Kitchen Bar, and the Home Hardware store, across the street on King near Ontario and Mountain.
Police say within minutes of each other, a suspect walked into the businesses, armed with a handgun, demanding cash.
The suspect was not given money and he started to walk northbound on Central Avenue.
No injuries were reported, but nearby child care centres were told to shelter-in-place as officers searched for the suspect.
He has not been located.
It's believed he is white, around 35-years-old, and 175 pounds.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the investigating officers by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009383.
On Monday, an armed suspect demanded keys from a vehicle rental shop in St. Catharines on Lake Street.
A 28-year-old Niagara-on-the-Lake man is charged in that case after his arrest Tuesday.
The two incidents are not connected.
