Two people close to President Donald Trump have been found guilty of multiple crimes.
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort could be spending the rest of his days behind bars after a jury in Virginia found him guilty of eight financial crimes including bank fraud, tax fraud, and failure to report a foreign bank account. The judge declared mistrial on 10 other charges as jurors failed to come to a consensus. Manafort faces a maximum of 80 years in jail.
Trump says special counsel Robert Mueller overstepped his authority by bringing Manafort into the Russian investigation, which he maintains is a 'witch hunt.' "It doesn't involve me but I still feel it is a very sad thing that happened. This has nothing to do with Russian collusion, this started as Russian collusion, this has nothing to do - it's a witch hunt and a disgrace."
Meanwhile, in New York, Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to eight charges including violations of campaign finance law stemming from hush money paid to two women who claim to have had sexual relationships with Trump. Cohen admitted to working with an 'unnamed candidate' to influence the election.
