A man sentenced to 10 years in prison for a drunk driving crash that killed three young children and their grandfather is now eligible to apply for unescorted temporary absences from prison.
Marco Muzzo was sentenced in March of 2016 after pleading guilty to four counts of impaired driving causing death and two of impaired driving causing bodily harm in the 2015 crash in Vaughan.
Nine-year-old Daniel Neville-Lake, his five-year-old brother Harrison, their two-year-old sister Milly and the children's 65-year-old grandfather, Gary Neville, died after the van they were in was hit by a speeding S-U-V driven by Muzzo.
Correctional Service Canada says Muzzo became eligible to apply for unescorted temporary absences yesterday and can apply for day parole in November, 2018.
