Marineland is opening up a new $6 million splash park.
The Niagara Falls theme park says 'Polar Splash' will officially open on Canada Day.
They released pictures of the new feature on their Facebook page, saying they just wrapped up filming a new commercial.
The park is hiring employees to staff the water feature and hosted a job fair today.
Marineland is also launching a new in-park train system.
The park has come under fire for years by animal activists for housing killer whales, beluga whales, and dolphins.
Marineland and the Vancouver Aquarium in British Columbia are the only two facilities in Canada that currently keep captive cetaceans.
The 'Free Willy' bill passed in Canada a few weeks ago banning the practice of keeping whales and dolphins in captivity.
The federal bill, which now only requires royal assent to become law, will phase out the practice of holding cetaceans in captivity, but grandfathers in those that are already being kept at two facilities in the country.
Marineland will be allowed to keep its whales and dolphins but can't purchase any new animals, and it must stop future breeding.
The park issued a statement saying they are confident they will remain compliant with all aspects of S-203 and will continue to contribute to research, education, and conservation.
They say they will continue to operate with the highest standards going forward.
