If you're taking a stroll tonight, you may notice a spectacular sight.
Tonight Mars will draw the closest it has been to Earth in 15 years.
The Backyard Astronomer Gary Boyle says The Red Planet will be easy to spot with the naked eye.
"So in the southeast, above the trees, above buildings by 9:20 p.m. it really rises by about 9:05 p.m. tonight. It's out all night long so it's not like a 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' kind of thing. It will be out all night until sunrise."
Mars will be exceptionally bright as it comes within 57.6 million kilometres from Earth.
Boyle says although you can drag out a telescope, it might be a wasted effort.
"Unfortunately Mars is going through a global dust storm right now so the fine detail, the great surface features that we were anticipating to see, which you can see anytime pretty well when anything's close you get the great views of it - pretty well washed out by the dust."
