First it was West Lincoln that got into a debate over whether or not to fly the Pride Flag, now a small township near Orangeville is embroiled in its own flag flap.
The Mayor of Amaranth is refusing to fly the flag, saying in his 18 years as mayor the rainbow flag has never flown over town hall.
A petition is now circulating demanding Bob Currie be removed from office.
But the Mayor is not backing down, citing freedom of expression and the right to speak our opinion.
Currie says even if the online petition had so many names on it that it would take you five years to read, he's not going to change his tune.
He adds if everyone was gay, this would be the last generation on earth and he can not support that.
