A student from Brock University is being remembered as sweet, friendly, and loved by everyone around her.
Shortly after midnight on Monday morning, police responded to a sudden death on the 406 and closed the Burgoyne Bridge.
A post on Facebook that has been shared nearly 900 times invites anyone, whether you worked with her at Harvey's, you were her classmate, or you just met her one time or another, to come and honour her.
The original vigil in the Facebook post was planned for the Burgoyne Bridge on Wednesday night at 7:30pm, however Amelia's mother would rather the vigil be held at the Niagara Region Mental Health Memorial Forest at Glenridge Quarry Naturalization site (1860 Sir Issac Brock Way).
She says she doesn't want to glorify a place of sadness and loss.
18 year old Amelia had recently graduated Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, and was valedictorian.
Her classmate Bianca tells CKTB that Amelia loved her little brother Ben and dog Casey more than anything in the world.
Bianca says Amelia was the life of the party, the smartest person in the room, and could make friends and talk to anybody.
Amelia was a student at Brock University in Accounting.
People will be bringing pictures, flowers, spirit wear from her high school Sir Winston Churchill, etc. anything that reminds them of Amelia.
The Burgoyne Bridge has been controversial recently, as there have been a number of deaths by suicide since its revitalization.
The region is planning to install safety barriers later this year.
