Professors, friends and community leaders remembered five bright lights that were extinguished too soon today, as the University of Windsor held a memorial service for students and researchers who died in the plane crash in Iran.
Of the 176 who died in the crash on Wednesday, 138 were travelling to Canada.
Many of them have been identified as professors, students and researchers at schools across Canada.
The five connected to the University of Windsor included two married couples and a P-h-D student.
At times throughout today's ceremony, the microphones on stage picked up the sounds of audience members sobbing.
