A stolen gibbon from Ontario has been found in Quebec.
In May two men in their twenties were charged with break, enter, and theft after an 18 inch tortoise, a black and white lemur, and black gibbon were taken from the Elmvale Jungle Zoo.
The OPP worked with the Service de Police de la Ville de Mascouche in Quebec to execute a search warrant at a home on Thursday.
Inside they found Agnes the gibbon who has now been returned to the zoo.
Michel Persi from the Elmvale Jungle Zoo says, "We are happy to have Agnes home with her family. In the coming weeks, she will be slowly re-introduced to her cousins, Jasmine and Gracie, and reintegrated back into the zoo community. To make this transition as stress free as possible, the zoo will remain closed for the remainder of the winter season. Agnes and the rest of the Elmvale Jungle Zoo family will be happy to see everybody in the spring of 2019!"
Stanley the tortoise is still missing.
