The fight continues this summer against raccoon rabies in Southern Ontario.
The Ministry of Natural Resources plans to drop more than 750,000 vaccine baits in the Hamilton area.
The Ministry says about 250,000 will be dropped by hand and the rest by helicopter.
Since 2015, there have been 318 cases of rabies in Ontario with the majority of them in the Hamilton area.
Three quarters of those cases have involved raccoons, but two feral cats have also been found with the virus, along with a llama and a fox on a farm in Dunnville.
Here in Niagara, there have been 9 cases, in West Lincoln and Port Colborne, all but one involving raccoons.
