Three more municipalities in Niagara have added to the list of those calling for a forensic audit of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
Port Colborne and Niagara on the Lake have joined St. Catharines in the call asking the province to conduct a forensic audit of the Conservation Authority.
However, Niagara Falls like the town of Wainfleet are asking the NPCA board of directors to order an independent third party forensic audit.
Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati says as a member of that board he intends to push for the forensic audit and suspects he'll have a lot of support around the table.
He says it's time to get to the bottom of all the allegations that have been suggested by local Niagara resident Ed Smith.
Welland MPP Cindy Forster also called for a forensic audit of the authority last month and has been supported by St. Catharines Liberal MPP Jim Bradley and Niagara Falls NDP MPP Wayne Gates.
The NPCA board has cancelled their meeting this month, but reconvene in January.
Meantime, Hamilton city council also voted today to ask the province for an investigation.
The NPCA watershed includes some areas of Hamilton.
