Eight new mental health beds are coming to the Niagara Health System as part of the first wave of funding for mental health and addictions supports.
The provincial government says they are addressing the critical gaps in Ontario's mental health care system.
This comes only a few months after the Tories were blasted for slashing the funds earmarked for mental health by the former Liberal government from 2.1 billion dollars over four years to $1.9 billion over 10 years.
The federal government will match provincial funding, meaning there will be an overall investment of $3.8 billion over the next decade.
