Temporary fencing has been installed along the Port Dalhousie Piers.
City staff saying additional sections of the east and west piers in Port Dalhousie are closed to the public due to higher than normal water levels in Lake Ontario.
Temporary fencing was installed April 28 and will remain until water levels return to a safe level.
Officials saying the fencing was installed to ensure the safety of visitors to Port Dalhousie and Lakeside Park.
Construction in Lakeside Park has not been affected by the water levels and the park is on track to open this summer.
The Port Dalhousie piers are owned by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and leased by the City of St. Catharines.
The piers were closed in April 2015 following a report by the DFO which recommended closing the piers based on damage to their substructure.
