If you plan to head to one of Niagara's beaches this weekend, there are warnings up at several beaches because of high levels of E. coli.
Crescent and Waverly Beaches in Fort Erie, Nelles Beach in Grimsby, Charles Daley Park in Lincoln and Lakeside in St. Catharines all have warnings.
The high bacteria levels are being blamed on all the rain we received last month.
The region reporting its sewage treatment plants spilled more than one billion litres of diluted sewage into area waterways last month because of record rainfall that overwhelmed the system.
How much rain?
According to regional figures, we got hit with 148.7 millimetres of rain in May compared to just 21 mm during the same time last year.
