Health Minister Christine Elliott says nearly 70 per cent of the 257 new cases of COVID-19 reported today were in the Windsor-Essex region.
Elliott says 177 of the new cases were the result of extensive testing over the weekend of temporary foreign workers in southwestern Ontario.
The remaining 80 cases were reported across the province along with seven new deaths.
Public health officials in Windsor-Essex say 183 cases were confirmed in the agri-food sector on the weekend and are asking for more resources to deal with outbreaks on farms.
