St. Catharines NDP MPP paying tribute to veterans at Queen's Park today.
Jennie Stevens, the mother of a petty officer second class in the Royal Canadian Navy, delivered the NDP's statement.
She says her son has completed three tours of duty abroad and she knows the importance of recognizing veterans and their families.
Stevens also paying tribute to a local fallen solider, Warrant Officer Dennis Brown, who was serving with the Lincoln and Welland Regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces.
The 38 year old was killed in Afghanistan in 2009 leaving behind a wife, and three sons.

Representatives from all parties in the Ontario legislature rose today, the last sitting day before Remembrance Day, to honour veterans.
