Politicians will return to Ontario's legislature today to extend the state of emergency.
MPP's are expected to extend the current emergency order until June 2.
Premier Doug Ford says the province is seeing encouraging signs in the fight against COVID-19, but it's too early to stop abiding by public health measures.
This comes as the Premier caused confusion about Ontario's emergency measures by admitting his daughters came to visit at his home on Mother’s Day.
Ford told reporters at Queen’s Park yesterday, he had two of his daughters over this weekend, which prompted a question about whether people can expand their social circle and start visiting with family outside of their household.
Ford went on to say" There was six of us, direct family, none of the husbands, boyfriends came, just themselves."
He added that he trusts “the judgement of the people of Ontario” and if people keep their gatherings small as possible, “that would be very helpful.”
He noted "It's just for a little bit longer and I appreciate everyone's cooperation with that."
