The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office will investigate a major fire at a family-owned business in Welland.
The blaze at Windshield King was first reported at 6:45 pm Thursday night after heavy thick smoke was seen coming from the East Main Street business.
Welland Fire Chief Adam Eckhart tells CKTB News they discovered a fire burning inside the building upon arrival and after confirming no one was inside they attacked the fire from the outside.
During the course of the night, they requested help from Pelham firefighters.
Eckhart doesn't believe the cause of the blaze is suspicious but due to the size and use of the building the Fire Marshall's office will conduct an investigation.
Crews were finally able to leave the scene early this morning, and although the investigation is still in the early stages damage is estimated at over a million dollars.
No injuries were reported.
