A wanted man had a Valentine's Day date with officers thanks to the combined efforts of several police services.
Jamie Dryden was arrested on Friday following an incident two weeks ago in Hamilton.
On January 31st, police were investigating reports of a suspicious person in the Barton Street East and Ottawa Street North area when a male suspect fired multiple shots at officers, used a woman as a human shield to avoid arrest, and fled on foot.
A few hours later police were told a resident in the Britannia Ave area confronted a man she discovered on her property, leading to a fight. The resident received minor injuries. The man fled the scene.
During the course of the investigation Hamilton Police called in help from Niagara Regional Police, Brantford Police, and the OPP.
Dryden was eventually located in the Brier Park area of Brantford around 8 a.m. Friday morning.
Police negotiators were called in and he was safely arrested just before midnight and returned to Hamilton.
Police officers are still working out the full list of charges in the investigation.
