The delayed launch of Elon Musk's private rocket company SpaceX is set for today.
If successful the mission marks the first American astronaut launch from U-S soil in almost a decade.
Barring weather or other unforeseen problems, the 24-story-tall SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is due to lift off at 3:22 p.m. EDT, propelling astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken aloft on a 19-hour ride to the International Space Station.
The mission’s first launch attempt on Wednesday was called off with less than 17 minutes to go on the countdown clock due to lightening and a tornado warning around the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral.
NASA says the weather for today is currently 50% go for launch today.
If the mission is scrubbed again, the next launch window would be tomorrow afternoon, with weather forecasts appearing more favorable.
