We are one step closer to a new national holiday National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We are one step closer to a new national holiday.

A bill that would make National Day for Truth and Reconciliation an official holiday is on its way to the Senate for approval.

The date for the holiday is set for September 30th.

If it does become an official federal holiday it would only apply to workers in federally regulated industries. It will be up to individual provinces to determine if they will adopt it as a statutory holiday.
