A massive final report from the national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls has been released -- calling on police services to do a better job dealing with human trafficking.
The inquiry has called their deaths tantamount to genocide.
The inquiry's chief commissioner relied on what she described as ``important truths'' from survivors who took part in months of testimony.
The report was released in Gatineau, Quebec with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau there to receive it.
Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett says the federal government will now have to focus on eliminating racism and sexism in policing and other institutions, as well as accelerating progress on child-welfare reforms.
