Medical experts are warning that a negative COVID-19 test is no reason to socialize in larger groups.
Dr. Isaac Bogoch, an infectious disease specialist, says the tests can't detect the coronavirus if it is still in the incubation period.
He says it's possible for a person to test negative but then show symptoms and become infectious days later.
Some people say they have used a test to feel more secure about socializing with others.
Experts also note it's possible to be exposed to the virus right after getting tested.
Another epidemiologist at the University of Toronto says there's a fairly large margin of error with nasal-swab testing.
