A new not-for-profit corporation has been formed to put Rodman Hall back in the community's hands.
The group Rodman Hall Art Centre Inc. says they are working with Brock University to develop a 'phased transition plan'.
Officials say they plan to raise money from a wide variety of sources to create a cultural destination at the historical building.
"Much work has been done in the past two years to prepare for independent community governance and operation of Rodman Hall Art Centre,” states Jean Bridge, Chair of Rodman
Hall Art Centre Inc. via a release. "Working with Brock University we are poised to strengthen Rodman Hall Art Centre’s role in the community while we continue to serve the students and faculty of Brock University."
Back in April university officials announced plans to relocate the hall's art collection, citing fiscal challenges, but insisted the gallery and art collection were not for sale.
