The soon-to-be second largest employer in Niagara is speaking out about its plans for our casinos.
U-S Gaming firm Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment will operate Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara, along with an entertainment centre starting in the summer of 2019.
MGE has been awarded a 21 year contract.
Some politicians have voiced their concerns that MGE is only required to employ the over 4000 casino employees for one year.
CEO of MGE, Mario Kontomerkos tells CKTB's Matt Holmes MGE does not have plans to decrease the workforce, in fact there could be some career advancement opportunities.
He says MGE currently employs 12,000 people and the way to their success is through their employees.
He says they are already pleased with the management team in place at the casinos.
Kontomerkos says they really want to expand and improve the area between the two casinos, calling it a corridor that can be improved with tourist attractions connecting the two properties.
He says Mohegan is a company that excels at bringing big "class a" talent to venues and that's what he wants to see happen here.
MGE is a company started back in 1996 in Connecticut.
It runs casinos in Atlantic City, Washington State, and South Korea.
