Brock University and Niagara Folk Arts are working together to help those who are new to Canada here in the Niagara region.
The Folk Arts Council signed an agreement with Brock University on Tuesday based on shared goal to help newcomers with research, outreach and support services.
Niagara Folk Arts is a charitable not-for-profit organization first launched in 1970 with a mandate to support and assist the newcomer community in Niagara with a variety of programs and services.
Folk Arts have collaborated with Brock on several projects over the years, and also invite Brock students for experiential education placements at the Centre.
Some projects in the works for this new partnership include enhancing Brock student engagement within Niagara Folk Arts with new volunteer opportunities, and working together to support to newcomers looking to upgrade or begin their post-secondary education.
