Canadian Blood Services admits new guidelines limiting how often female donors can give blood will likely mean 35-thousand fewer donations from regulars this year.
So it's looking to recruit new donors to keep up with demand.
The change implemented in December involved tougher criteria for the level of hemoglobin or iron required in the blood, and was meant to help keep donors healthy.
But the stricter rules mean females have to wait 12 weeks instead of eight before donating again.
