A first for Niagara with a Lee Valley store opening up in the Falls.
The Canadian retailer known for premium woodworking, gardening, hardware and home products, will open Friday in Niagara Falls at 6777 Morrison Street.
The opening is part of an overall company expansion and marks Lee Valley’s 19th location and fourth store opening in just over two years.
The store will employ about 20 people.
Chief Operating Officer of Lee Valley Jason Tasse says they already have a strong customer base of gardeners, woodworkers and hobbyists here that have been shopping online and at their stores in surrounding areas for years.
He says Niagara is a very attractive place to open a new Lee Valley location because it has a strong tourism sector, growing population, increased industry investments and more.
Tasse says with Niagara’s population on the rise overall, and they know from consumer research that there is an overall appreciation of gardening in the area.
He says in fact, sales in the category skew a little higher when compared to the rest of Canada.
Tasse also says they have a strong following of woodworkers in Niagara that they anticipate will grow with the store opening.
