The push is on for you to use your green bin in Niagara.
Director of Waste Management Services, Catherine Habermebl tells CKTB the region has released a new, and improved green bin that is raccoon proof.
She says they are available in various locations to purchase for $16.
New residents receive one for free.
Habermebl says the updated bin has a lock to prevent animals from knocking them over.
She says many Niagara residents are not using their green bins.
Meantime, confusion continues over where Niagara residents should put Tim Hortons' coffee cups.
She confirms that the coffee cups are NOT recyclable and you should NOT put them in the green bin.
The top lid can be placed in the plastic recycle bin.
