The newest addition to Lakeside Park has a name – the Rotary Bandshell.
The bandshell is between the Lakeside Park parking lot and the Carousel, and can host small concerts, and dance and theatre performances.
The bandshell is fully accessible, ensuring it can be enjoyed and used by all residents.
The Rotary Club of St. Catharines invested $75,000 to have the naming rights to the bandshell for the next 20 years.
“Rotary has once again made a great contribution to the fabric of our community,” said Mayor Walter Sendzik. “Thank you Rotary Club of St. Catharines for continuing to invest in St. Catharines and for helping with the revitalization of Lakeside Park.”
The community can use the Rotary Bandshell for picnics and small gatherings. The bandshell can be booked for private events and performances by calling 905.688.5600.
The Rotary Bandshell is part of the larger Lakeside Park rejuvenation project supported by the City of St. Catharines, the Region of Niagara’s Lakefront Enhancement Program and the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
A community celebration for Lakeside Park will take place later this summer.
