NHL alumni are skating with some local amateurs for the Rankin Celebrity Ice Cup tournament.
Things get started over at the Gale Centre this morning at 8 a.m.
Organizers of the annual tournament hope to raise $200,000 for the Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre this year.
The money will be used to buy new hospital equipment as well as room renovations.
Some of the familiar faces hitting the ice this year include Darcy Tucker, Rick Vaive, Mike Krushelnyski, and Wendel Clark. Biggs and Barr from 97.7 HTZ FM will also be skating with the former pros.
The tournament is open to the public. Puck drops at 3:30 p.m. for the celebrity all-star game where the top fundraisers will be able to lace up and test their skills against the NHL alumni.
