Except for some minor changes, home sales in the Niagara Region seem to holding fairly steady.
According to the latest report from the Niagara Association of Realtors, 2.5% more sales were made this past August than the year before.
However properties are spending more time on the market, at 46 days in 2018 compared to 36 days in 2017.
The average sale price for a home in Niagara rings in around $416, 200 representing a 6.4% increase over last August.
The most expensive homes can be found in Niagara-On-The-Lake, coming in at just under $823,000, while residents in Port Colborne and Wainfleet are paying the least at around $328,500.
"The year to date statistics are key when evaluating the market performance. It is encouraging to note that residential home prices continue to hold as do the number of new listings. As the market distances itself from 2017 and 2016 trends, the new normal for our market will continue to emerge, " President of the Niagara Association of Realtors Stephen
Oliver says via a release.
