Niagara Catholic District School board representatives are reminding residents to stay off playground equipment.
Officials on Instagram say they received a number of messages over the weekend about people still using the structures.
They say they understand the need to get outside, but the schoolyards are closed.
‘Please respect that and stay off them until they reopen. It’s for your own good.’
In the same post, officials say have not yet heard what the Ministry of Education is planning for the rest of the school year, but expect that information to come out early this week.
Goooood morning, Niagara Catholic, and welcome to Monday. I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy some of that glorious weather yesterday - safely, and observing the rules, of course. Speaking of rules, we had a number of messages over the weekend about people continuing to use our playgrounds while children are out of school. We understand the need to get outside, but we remind you that our schoolyards are closed, particularly the play structures. Pleases respect that and stay off them until they reopen. It's for your own good. In case you haven't looked, we have posted new resources for you and your children to access while away from school. These resources have been recommended by our consultants and approved by Superintendents of Education. Find them under the Learn at Home page on niagaracatholic.ca. We'll continue to update this list as the school closures continue. And speaking of that, we have not yet been advised by the Minister of Education of the government's plans for the 2019-2021 school year. We expect that information to come early this week and will, of course, let you know as soon as we do. Please pray for those who are sick, those who are recovering and all those caring for them, stay safe and be well. We love you and miss you all. #covid_19 #stayhome #staysafe #stayhealthy
