A 36-page document has been created to help parents with Niagara's Catholic Board understand back-to-school plans.
Details range from how kids will get a drink of water to how desks will be set up.
Water fountains will not be available, and hydration stations will be used instead.
Locker use will be restricted, so students will take any personal belongings home each evening.
There will be no activities requiring singing, cheering, and wind musical instruments.
All field trips and school outdoor education trips have been suspended.
There will be no activities that involve sharing materials, food or beverages.
No fall athletics or co-curricular activities will take place.
Elementary students will attend school 5 days a week, participating in a 304 minute instructional day, with bell times specific to their school locations.
Recess breaks, before school entry/end of day exit, washroom breaks and lunch breaks may be staggered, as determined at each school location, to support physical distancing measures.
Lunch will be held in each classroom and all children's desks will face the same direction.
Secondary students will placed in a 15 student co-hort and attend school 2-3 days a week depending on the rotation.
The in-class learning day will run from 8:05am-2:05pm.
Students will take one course at a time for approx. 22 days following by one day for evaluation/exam.
