Niagara child care centres will be allowed to reopen on Friday, even as we stay at stage one of the reopening plan.
All child care centres in Ontario will be allowed to resume operation when much of the province, except for Niagara, Hamilton, Toronto, Windsor and some other communities, enter a new phase of reopening on Friday.
Premier Doug Ford says child care needs to be in place so people can return to work as more COVID-19 restrictions are lifted in most areas.
But child care centres will face restrictions including limiting the number of children and staff in a defined space to 10 people.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says parents who decide not to send their kids back to child care won't lose their spot or be charged fees.
The entire province, including here in Niagara, will also see limits on gatherings double to 10 people, and places of worship in the region can begin services again with some limitations.
