Niagara College has received an international accolade for applied research and innovation.
During a ceremony in Australia, the college was announced as the winner of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics 2018 Gold Award of Excellence in Applied Research and Innovation.
The latest recognition is on top of a silver award for Applied Research and Innovative Excellence from Colleges and Institutes Canada, and Niagara College's Research and Innovation Division earning seventh place in the Canadian Top 50 Research Colleges standing for 2017 and 2016.
"This award is a tremendous honour for our division, as it validates Niagara College’s place as a leader in applied research," Niagara College's vice president of Research and Innovation Marc Nantel says. "We are proud of the strides we've made providing solutions for key industry sectors, while training today’s students to become tomorrow’s innovative workforce. And we are encouraged to continue evolving the best practices that have placed us on this world stage."
