While Hydro One is sending 175 employees to Florida to help restore power in the wake of hurricane Irma, two Niagara paramedics are in the Caribbean helping there.
Hydro One crews are expected to arrive in affected areas of Florida tomorrow afternoon.
They are bringing bucket trucks, 30 other vehicles and other equipment with them to help in the restoration effort.
Niagara paramedic Matt Brouwer meanwhile, is leading a team with disaster relief charity GlobalMedic.
The team arrived in St. Maarten Sunday where they began handing out water purification tablets and hygiene kits.
Sunwing flew the team and their equipment there at no charge.
