A Niagara elementary school principal has been selected to receive one of seven Principal of the Year Awards from the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario.
Blaine MacDougall, Principal of St. Michael Catholic Elementary School in Niagara-on-the-Lake was selected for the Central/West region of Ontario which includes school boards in Hamilton, Wellington, Simcoe, York and Halton regions.
Board Chair Father Paul MacNeil credited Mr. MacDougall for his commitment not only to his students at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School, but to students across Niagara Catholic.
“Mr. MacDougall is an outstanding administrator, and is certainly very deserving of this honour,” said Chair MacNeil.
“In addition to his responsibilities as Principal of St. Michael Catholic Elementary School,he is also very involved in the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario, and assists in administering the Niagara Catholic Principal/Vice Principal’s Helping Hands Fund to assist families in times of crisis.
Director of Education John Crocco also offered his congratulations to Mr. MacDougall citing his outstanding leadership as reason for such a prestigious recognition.
