Niagara Falls at odds again with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Council last night voting in favour of a staff recommendation coming out against one of the four possible locations for a new theatre to be built at Fallsview Casino.
Mayor Jim Diodati says the preferred location for the facility is on land behind the casino.
But he says the theatre would block the fallsview of several nearby hotels.
Diodati notes there is an agreement in place with the city, signed by the OLG when it built Fallsview, that has restrictions on the view lines.
Now he says the OLG wants the city to lift those restrictions.
And he says according to the bid parameters it appears the theatre will not be as big as he had hoped.
He adds it will probably be a 5,000 seat facility instead of the 5-7,000 they had wanted.
The OLG will announce the winner of the bid next month.
