Niagara Falls City council trying to find ways to whittle down a proposed 2.6% property tax hike contained in this year's proposed operating budget.
Councillor Vince Kerrio noting at last night's council meeting, other Niagara municipalities have managed lower increases and don't receive more than $20 million a year for hosting two casinos.
Staff have been asked to take another look at the spending plan to comes up with ways to keep the tax hike below the 2% mark.
