Niagara Falls council passed the application for three hotel towers along Robinson Street.
Canadian Niagara Hotels - owned by the DiCienzo family - appeared at council to gain approval to exceed the 30 floor limit imposed by a bylaw.
Originially the plan included two 35 storey hotels and a 56 storey hotel. After a debate, council approved an increase for 38 storey hotels and the initial 56 floor tower.
A representative from the Skylon Tower stepped forward to voice concerns - officials with the Skylon Tower say the original proposal was fine as is, but they worry additional floors will impact the view from the tower.
