This is typically the time of year municipalities start hiring lifeguards and preparing to open public pools next month.
But with all the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic it is hard to decide what to do moving forward.
In Niagara Falls, parks and rec staff are recommending the city opens three of its five pools on July 1st with no swim lessons or swim team.
Staff are suggesting all seven splash pad facilities in the city open for June 15th.
However, should the province decide pools can not re-open until August 1st then the staff report recommends pools remain closed for the season.
It will be up to council to decide next Tuesday when they meet virtually at 1:00.
