Niagara Falls city council will meet in special session Thursday to discuss the OLG's modernization plans as well as funding for this years New Years Eve concert in Queen Victoria Park.
Mayor Jim Diodati and Regional Chair Alan Caslin have both expressed concerns the modernization plan could result in the loss of up to 1,400 casino jobs in the city.
The Mayor says during this week's meeting councillors will decide what the next step should be in the fight to prevent that from happening.
Councillors will also discuss a grant application for the annual New Year's show.
