A Niagara Falls hotel is apologizing for evicting two British tourists who stood in solidarity with striking restaurant workers on Clifton Hill.
The CBC reporting it received an email from Canadian Niagara Hotels, which blames hotel security at the Crowne Plaza for kicking out Alan Tomlinson and his daughter Lauren saying staff "failed to make the significant distinction" between union demonstrators and the two tourists on vacation.
The incident went public after the Tomlinsons posted their story on Facebook saying they joined striking workers at the Rainforest Cafe, which is also owned by Canadian Niagara Hotels, and they were followed back to the Crowne Plaza by hotel security.
Once inside the hotel, Alan Tomlinson says security threatened to call police and have their car towed.
That's when they agreed to leave but were refused a refund.
The hotel now says it has refunded the pair the money.
Word of the incident has spread and at least one other union cancelled all of its reservations with Canadian Niagara Hotels.
